    Source: polb.com

A $1.2 billion project was launched at the Port of Long Beach on Monday. It's expected to generate 14,000 new, permanent jobs in Southern California. In April, the Port, Hong Kong-based Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) and Long Beach Container Terminal (LBCT) committed to a 40-year, $4.6 billion agreement under which the Port will lease the redeveloped terminal to OOCL and LBCT. Some union leaders are concerned the automation process will eliminate jobs. However, employers cite the thousands of permanent jobs, along with thousands of temporary construction jobs. Source: abc

This week same sex marriages seem to be the talk of politicians around the globe. President Barack Obama announced his support of same sex marriages and had many talking.

This announcement was sparked by a comment made by Vice President Joe Biden last weekend. The two had decided they would announce their support at a later date; however, due to Biden’s getting off task, the president decided to speak out for himself and clarify.

President Obama reported that he would have "Preferred to have done this in my own way, on my own terms," but "all's well that ends well." Biden later apologized to Obama for having released their stance sooner than planned.

Same sex marriages are also a discussion down under, in Australia, this week as the Australian Prime Minster speaks out, and not for the first time, about her opposition to gay marriage.

CNN reports that in Belgium, Canada, Spain, South Africa, and Norway same sex marriages are legal, while in 76 other countries they are illegal and in 5 they are punishable by death.

The lawsuit said that the district essentially ignored student allegations. The suit states that no changes were made to the district's "policies, training or supervision, or other actions to protect students," after the complaints.

He also stated "What these guys were thinking I don't know," "That's why they're not there anymore." The president called the majority of the agents incredible guys, protecting him and his family as well as U.S. officials all over the world.
